I’m Deb Shurtz, and I invest the best hours of my week instilling a love of music in my students and guiding them toward musical mastery. Strings & Keys Studio offers instruction in:

Deb’s Approach
My style of instruction strikes a nice balance between gentle joy and age-appropriate challenge. First and foremost, I help my students fall in love with making music. Once that love takes root, students become self-motivated to progress in their skills and develop a music habit that lasts a lifetime.
I’ve been playing both piano and guitar for 40+ years—and I bring more than a decade of musical-instruction experience to you and your family.
Our Program
Strings & Keys Studio runs a year-round program to maximize each student’s uninterrupted progress and make the most of your investment in musical instruction. We follow the Leander School District calendar for breaks and holidays. During the summer, weekly lessons and our Summer Accelerator program boost each student’s progress. Make-up lessons or virtual lessons help accommodate family travel plans. Lesson options include:
Monday–Friday
Types:
Standard lessons (30 minutes)
Extended lessons (45 or 60 minutes)
Dual-instrument combo lessons (45 or 60 minutes)
Daytime sessions, ideal for homeschool families or work-from-home parents.
After-school and early-evening sessions, ideal for students and adults.
Virtual lessons, ideal for long-distance students, family travel plans, transportation challenges, or illness.
