Explore Your Options with Our Flexible Learning Plan!
At Strings & Keys Studio, we know that life sometimes interrupts weekly lessons. Our Flexible Learning Plan gives you three lesson options that support your busy schedule while keeping your musical progress strong and steady. If you or your child must miss a regular lesson time due to illness, inclement weather, or travel, choose Option 2 or 3 so that your progress won’t miss a beat!
In-Person Lessons
For this traditional lesson option, come to the Strings & Keys Studio during your regularly scheduled lesson time for a one-on-one lesson with your instructor.
Note: If you don’t live near our Strings & Keys Studio in Georgetown, Texas, consider registering for our Virtual Lessons option! Same great instruction, live from anywhere in the world!
Virtual Lessons
Connect with your instructor via Zoom or FaceTime during your regular lesson time for a virtual lesson. Your teacher will listen and watch as you perform, then give you encouragement, feedback, and some new assignments—just like you’d receive during an in-person lesson, but more high tech!
Here’s how Virtual Lessons work:
Step 1: Text your instructor. At least two hours before your lesson time, text your instructor that your lesson will be virtual, and provide the mobile phone number you’d like her to call at the start of your virtual lesson.
Step 1: Download the FaceTime app if you use an Apple iPhone or iPad. (If you are an Android user, your teacher will text you a FaceTime link.)
Step 3: Charge or plug in your mobile device near your instrument. Aim the device so your teacher will have a clear view of yourself and your instrument as you perform. Turn on your ringer so you will hear when your teacher calls.
Step 4: Answer your mobile device. Your instructor will FaceTime you at the start of your lesson time. Answer the call—and start your lesson!
Video Exchange Lessons
Connect with your instructor via video clips at a time that is convenient for you (at least 2 hours before your lesson time), and she will respond by video with encouragement, feedback, answers to any questions, and your assignments for the coming week.
Here’s how Video Exchange Lessons work:
Step 1: Text your instructor. At least two hours before your lesson time, text your instructor that you’d like a video-exchange lesson.
Step 2: Video yourself performing your lesson pieces. Record each piece in a separate video clip and send those clips to your teacher’s mobile phone number.
Step 3: Your teacher reviews your videos and responds. During your regular lesson time, your instructor will watch your video clips and send you a response with encouragement, feedback, answers to any questions, and new assignments.
Step 4: Watch your teacher’s video response. Once you receive your teacher’s video response, watch the video and implement her instructions.
